Recovery Patrol
A core activity for the AA is rescuing people whose vehicles have broken down at the roadside. It's important that we react quickly and safely to aid stranded motorists, and this is where you'll come in.
It will be down to you to reach members and customers alike at the roadside, assess the situation, reassure the driver and take appropriate action. This will involve loading irreparable vehicles onto the back of your vehicle and taking it and the passengers to their destination.
You'll need a valid, clean LGV 1 licence, outstanding communication skills and the ability to get on with people from all walks of life. Time-management skills, motivation and pride in your work are all essential, as are the willingness to work annualised hours, the ability to meet strict deadlines and temperament necessary to react well under pressure. Attention to detail goes without saying.
Working in as an AA recovery patrol is not a 9am-to-5pm, Monday-to-Friday job. We have to ensure that our AA members and business customers receive the level of service required whenever they need it. Because of this, you'll be working shifts with evening, weekend and bank-holiday working as the norm. And you will be required to work overtime for some additional hours each month.
In return, you can look forward to genuine career and training opportunities with a big-name brand and excellent benefits. If you have top-quality driving skills (with an HGV 3 licence and no more than five points), have a flexible attitude to working hours and the kind of personality people instantly warm to, please see our current vacancies and apply online.
