Automotive Locksmith
The AA Automotive Locksmith technician is an exciting new role within the AA whose job is to assist our members and customers who have a key/immobiliser related fault on their vehicle. Typically this will include lost/broken keys and issues relating to key transponders.
This unique and innovative job involves using state of the art key cutting and programming equipment fitted within a dedicated “Key Assist” vehicle, which enables the technician to cut and programme keys for almost all vehicles using a combination of OEM diagnostic software and professional locksmiths tooling and programming equipment. You will work to exacting standards ensuring that all security checks are in place prior to carrying out any work and that the correct procedures are followed dependent on the individual vehicle

We are looking for self-motivated and flexible individuals who have previous experience in the automotive locksmith industry, are excellent communicators and enjoy working outdoors in a challenging environment. Previous experience in household / commercial environment will be advantageous.
Ideally you should have an excellent knowledge of modern vehicle keys and immobiliser systems including transponder identification, ability to decode locks in situ as well as stripping and rebuilding of lock assemblies, effect entry methods, expereience in use of key programming equipment (Preferably AD100 PRO and OEM diagnostic equipment) and EEPROM recognition, removal and reprogramming. You should hold a full valid driving licence and have a clear CRB disclosure.

* Minimum earnings are subject to achieving a minimum required average level of productivity
Productivity incentive scheme can allow Mobile Key Technicians who successfully complete an average of 6 jobs per day for earnings to be in the region of £50k
Potential earnings however are dependant on how many key jobs are successfully completed over a one month period.
